Archaeological Dating Laboratory
The Laboratory of Archaeological Dating at the Center for Archaeological Sciences of Sichuan University is currently capable of performing photolithography of Quaternary Paleolithic, Neolithic and historic sites. The laboratory is equipped with Danish Risø - DA-20 photodating instrument, German Honle sunlight simulator, centrifuge, oven, water purifier, ultrasonic and other equipment, and is currently adding new equipment such as Risø - DA-20 photodating instrument, Polish uDose low-base counter, ORTEC portable gamma spectrometer and planetary ball mill, etc. The laboratory can realize the field collection of Quaternary Paleolithic, Neolithic and historical sites, including the collection of sample pre-sample. The work can be realized including field collection of photoluminescence samples, sample pre-processing, sample measurement, data processing and chronological analysis. Through the use of single-chip and single-particle methods to measure mineral deposits, the team realizes high-resolution dating of archaeological sites, and explores issues such as the origin and evolution of human beings, the development of the Paleolithic vein, and the migration and exchange of ancient human beings. Currently, the core members of the team include associate researchers, graduate students and lab technicians.
