About the Speaker:
Zhang Hucai is a Donglu Distinguished Professor (Level II) at Yunnan University, focusing on lacustrine sediments, climate change, and lake ecology. He has long been engaged in research on lakes, ecological environment, and monsoon variations in western China. He has participated in the German DFG Africa Sahara Project and the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP361), conducting rich interdisciplinary field investigations. He has undertaken key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, key international cooperation projects, key projects of the NSFC-Yunnan Joint Fund, the Yunnan Leading Talent Program, and high-end talent introduction projects. He has published more than 300 papers in academic journals such as Cell and Science, and authored books such as "Elemental Epigenetic Geochemical Characteristics and Theoretical Basis." He has received honors such as the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, the First Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education, and the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the State Education Commission.
