SUN Qun is a Professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Life Sciences, Sichuan University, an academic and technical leader in Sichuan Province, and a recipient of high-level talents in Sichuan Province. He currently serves as the Director of the Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Resource Microbiology and Microbial Technology, and the Director of the International Joint Research Center for Genetic Resources and Biosafety. He has long been engaged in teaching and research in the fields of microbiology and food biotechnology, and has undertaken more than 50 national, ministerial and provincial, and horizontal scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Science and Technology Support Program, Major Basic Research Preliminary Special Projects, International Science and Technology Cooperation, Intergovernmental Cooperation, and Scientific and Technological Personnel Service Enterprises. He has published 260 papers and monographs in domestic and foreign academic journals such as Nature Communication and PNAS.
