About the Speaker: Hui Shen is an Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is mainly engaged in the research of ancient plant remains. She is committed to using remains such as charcoal/wood as research indicators to reconstruct the utilization patterns of plant resources by ancient people and reveal the interaction and impact of early human agricultural activities and the environment. In recent years, based on plant remains from more than 40 archaeological sites in East Asia, Central Asia, etc., she has published more than 20 papers in Earth System Science Data, Quaternary Science Reviews, Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences, Nature Plants, etc.
