About the Speaker: Fan Jianan is an associate professor and master's supervisor at the Center for Archaeological Science, Sichuan University. She holds a joint Ph.D. from Peking University and the University of Tokyo. Her research focuses on historical ceramic archaeology and the archaeology of the Maritime Silk Road. She is dedicated to deeply interpreting the Maritime Silk Road using archaeological methods, systematically linking archaeological materials such as kiln sites, ports, and shipwrecks to reconstruct ancient trade networks. She has led key projects of the National Social Science Fund and general projects of the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences, and has published more than ten papers in important academic journals both in China and abroad.
