About the Speaker: Yang Yimin is the Director and Professor of the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, School of Humanities, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research interests include the analysis of ancient organic residues and silicate materials (including glass, jade, and ceramics). He is dedicated to using modern scientific and technological methods to excavate potential information from ancient remains, conduct research on the applicability of advanced spectroscopic analysis to cultural relics, to better understand ancient human activities and reconstruct ancient societies, solve related archaeological problems, and provide basic information and technical support for the protection of cultural relics. He has published several papers in academic journals such as PNAS, Science sub-journals, Nature sub-journals, and Cell. Many papers have been selected by Nature as "Research Highlights" or Science as "In-Depth Reports."
