Pottery Exchange and Human Interaction in the Late Neolithic Northeastern Tibetan Plateau: Archaeometric Evidence from the Lajia and Dongguotan Sites
Speaker: Luo Yingjie, PhD Candidate (School of Archaeology and Museology, Sichuan University)
Moderator: Tang Bangcheng, PhD Candidate (School of Archaeology and Museology, Sichuan University)
Speaker Profile: Luo Yingjie, a 2023 cohort PhD candidate at the School of Archaeology and Museology, Sichuan University, supervised by Professor Li Shuicheng and Associate Professor Du Zhanwei. His primary research focuses on Pre-Qin archaeology, currently concentrating on pottery production and social networks in northeastern Qinghai from the Late Neolithic to the Early Bronze Age. By integrating macroscopic morphological observation, XRF elemental analysis, XRD phase identification, and petrographic microstructure analysis, he systematically reconstructs the raw material supply chain and production process of Zongri culture pottery. Relevant findings have been published in the *Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports*, for the first time revealing the raw material recipes and exchange patterns of pottery in this region, confirming the bidirectional interaction between Majiayao and Zongri cultures, and providing new evidence for understanding the process of social complexification in early northwestern China.
