3. Research direction
Ancient DNA: mainly uses molecular biology means, combining multiple disciplines such as archaeology, linguistics, and isotopes to trace the genetic origin, migration and fusion process of ancient populations; use bioinformatics methods to explore the kinship relationships within ancient populations and the social structure of ancient society.
Molecular forensics: Use bioinformatics, population genetics methods and skills to provide scientific evidence for criminal cases, investigation of crimes, etc.
Molecular paleopathology: Through metagenomic analysis, bacterial and viral DNA present in ancient remains are screened and constructed, and genomic comparative analysis is carried out to trace the transmission route of ancient microorganisms.
