Bao-Feng Di (Director)

Professor at Sichuan University, Vice Dean of the Institute for Disaster Management and Reconstruction, and Academic and Technical Leader of Sichuan Province. His main research interests include the use of remote sensing (RS), geographic information systems (GIS), and machine learning (ML) to carry out teaching and research in the fields of geological disaster risk assessment and emergency management information systems, environmental information systems, and environmental planning and management. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of California, Davis, a senior visiting scholar at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Nepal, and RWTH Aachen University in Germany. To date, he has independently applied for and presided over more than 20 scientific research projects, including sub-projects of the 973 Program, sub-projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program, National Environmental Protection Public Welfare Fund projects, China Prosperity Fund, international cooperation and exchange projects, and National Natural Science Foundation projects. He has published more than 80 papers in academic journals such as Remote Sensing of Environment, Environmental Science & Technology, and Resources, Conservation & Recycling. He has won one first prize for Science and Technology Progress in Sichuan Province.
