Du Zhanwei, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1985, from Shenqiu, Henan Province, is the Director of the Department of Archaeology, Associate Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Archaeology and Museology, Sichuan University, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Archaeological Society of Sichuan Province. From 2005 to 2014, he studied at the Department of Archaeology, College of Arts, Jilin University, and obtained bachelor's and doctoral degrees.


He teaches courses such as "Chinese Archaeology-1", "Introduction to Field Archaeology", "Field Archaeological Excavation", "Field Archaeological Survey", "Ancient Chinese Jade", "Archaeological Research on the Stone Age", "Touching the Past: Archaeology and Humanity", "Archaeological Theory and Methods", "Archaeological Literature Reading", and "Archaeological Professional Practice"; co-edited 1 textbook; and presided over or participated in several teaching reform projects of the Ministry of Education and Sichuan University.

He has presided over or participated in the excavation of Lajia, Baodun, Xichengyi, Jijiaocheng, Ejiadong, Dongguotan, Xiangranggou South, Guoqi, Yongping, Longtanshan Luchang, Shangqiao and other sites in Sichuan, Qinghai, Gansu, Hunan, Liaoning, Jilin, Zhejiang and other places, as well as the survey work in Guanting Basin, the upper reaches of the Minjiang River, and the Qinghai Lake area; presided over the Youth Project of the National Social Science Fund, a sub-project of the Major Project of Philosophy and Social Science Research of the Ministry of Education, projects of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities, and more than ten horizontal projects, and participated in more than ten projects such as the National Social Science Fund Project and the Major Project of the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education; published more than thirty papers in journals such as "Acta Archaeologica Sinica", "Archaeology", and "Cultural Relics"; and co-edited 1 book.

He has won more than twenty honorary titles and awards such as Sichuan University Young Key Teacher, First Prize for Excellent Internship Instructor, First Prize for Advanced Internship Team for Undergraduate Teaching, Second Prize in the 2nd "Inquiry-based-Small Class" Teaching Competition, "Inquiry-based-Small Class" Teaching Demonstration Teacher, Excellent Classroom Teaching Quality Award, Excellent Graduation Thesis Guidance Teacher, Excellent Guidance Teacher for College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, Model Course for Curriculum Ideology and Politics, Excellent Department Director, and "Mount Everest Award for Teaching" Advanced Individual in Teaching.

Main research interests: Neolithic archaeology, Northwest archaeology, Southwest archaeology, Northeast archaeology, early cultural exchanges and ethnic interactions in inland border areas, etc.
